Missions Ministry
At St. Luke’s United Methodist Church, we put our faith into action through our service and our missions. We are focused on helping in our community as well as supporting national and international missions. We believe we are blessed when we bless others.
Who we Support
- Congregational Care – Calls and meals for our church family during illness or crisis. Coffee & Chat meets third Wednesday each month for coffee & fellowship
- First Families – Monthly food deliveries to local families in need
- Local School Support – Snacks and supplies for children in need
- Adopt A Family – Christmas gifts for local children and adults in need
- Prayer Blanket Ministry – Fleece throws for ill, shut-ins, and others who need a cozy reminder of God’s love
- Epworth Children’s Home, Columbia, SC – Residential home for abused & neglected children and support programs for parents
- Samaritan’s Purse Operation Christmas Child – Brings hope through Christian literature & gifts for children in distressed areas of the world
- UMCOR (United Methodist Committee on Relief) – Helps in crises in the U.S. and around the world
How to Get Involved
- Join the Missions Team – We meet monthly to plan our missions programs
- Donate Food – First Sunday food drive for Bluffton Self Help, third Sunday food donations for our First Families program; school snacks for needy children
- Volunteer – Agape Food Pantry needs volunteers each Saturday from 10:00 – noon; join our Congregational Care Team
- Prayer Blankets – Help make no sew fleece blankets; meets 4th Monday each month
- Samaritan’s Purse – Fill a shoebox with small gifts (mid-October to mid-November)
- Watch for Other Opportunities with our ongoing mission projects in the church bulletin and monthly newsletter
